Himeji Castle

Himeji Castle, also known as White Heron Castle (Shirasagijo) due to its elegant, white appearance, is widely considered as Japan's most spectacular castle for its imposing size and beauty and its well preserved, complex castle grounds. The castle is both a national treasure and a world heritage site.

Kokoen Garden

Kokoen is a relatively recently constructed Japanese style garden, which was opened in 1992 on the former site of the feudal lord's west residence (Nishi-Oyashiki). It consists of nine separate, walled gardens designed in various styles of the Edo Period.

Shinkansen Himeji Station

From the platform of Shinkansen Himeji Station, you can see the Shinkansen passing at 300 km / h. In addition, it can be reached by Shinkansen from Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Hiroshima, and will be the gateway to Himeji Castle.

Akashi Kaikyo Bridge

The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is, with a length of almost four kilometers, the world's longest suspension bridge. An interesting way to experience the bridge up close is walking the Maiko Marine Promenade, a circuit of observatory walkways under the bridge's platform, about 50 meters above the water which offer unique views of  Akashi Strait and Osaka Bay.

Kobe Harborland

Kobe Harborland is a shopping mall with entertainment district and the waterfront of Kobe's port area. The district offers a large selection of shops, restaurants, cafes and other amusements together with the romantic evening atmosphere, have made it a popular spot for couples and tourists alike.

Meriken Park

Meriken Park is a nice waterfront park in Kobe's port area and a collection of modern art installations and fountains. It is home to some of the city's more iconic contemporary architecture such as the red Kobe Port Tower and the Kobe Maritime Museum.

Kitano-cho

Kitano-cho is a city district at the foot of the Rokko mountain range where many foreign merchants and diplomats settled after the Port of Kobe was opened to foreign trade in the second half of the 19th century. And offers a variety of cafes, restaurants and boutiques, making it a favorite among young Japanese couples.

Rokko mountain

Shin-Kobe Ropeway is lifts tourists up the southern slopes of the Rokko mountain chain. As it ascends, it passes by the Nunobiki Waterfall and the Nunobiki Herb Garden, giving a nice aerial view of both. The highlight of the ride lies in the observation deck located just beside the top station, which offers spectacular views of Kobe and is a popular night view spot.

Kobe Beef

Kobe Beef is a prized Japanese delicacy and probably the most widely-known regional specialty food in Japan and while Kobe Beef is probably the best known type of wagyu outside of Japan. Kobe Beef is usually served as steaks, shabu shabu or sukiyaki . Prices while a full meal at a teppanyaki restaurant typically costs between 8,000 and 30,000 yen per person.
